Gaux girl! Gaux!

You can sign up for the UK’s free 247.tv internet service and watch the whole day’s events via streaming video in real time at http://www.247.tv/ — there is no charge for live Modern Pentathlon contests.

The 247.tv site also provides archival video and downloads for a fee. Whether you wish to use the free service or whether you use the for-fee services, you must sign up in advance of the event, receive your password (takes a couple of hours), and then book the event ahead of time. That way it’s all queued up and ready. Don’t wait until competition time.

Margaux had a respectable showing in Millfield.  She has her work cut out for her going forward.  She’s up for it!

NORCECA Games #1 — Open Competition #2 for Gaux Girl

NORCECA ON THE PODIUM 13 MAR 07 FIRST PLACE!

For this edition of the newsletter, the news is very good!

Margaux won the Silver Medal in 2008’s World Cup II competition held in Mexico City on 09 MAR 08, that’s second place for those of you who don’t know, and that feat deserves applause.

¡Arriba Margaux! ¡Bravo!

Later in the same week, on Thursday, 13 MAR, at the NORCECA games (NORCECA is an acronym based upon the geographic areas of North America, the Caribbean, and Central America), Margaux won first in NORCECA and second in the open competition.

This year Officials of the normally closed (only countries in the region described in the acronym NORCECA are usually invited) games ran an open competition in parallel with the NORCECA competition.  So, in one competition, Margaux came in first in the local group of invitees, and second in the overall competition open to the world.

Once again!  ¡Arriba Margaux! ¡Bravo! ¡Bravisimo!

Her website is under construction, but it’s looking good!  Check out the Roots of Modern Pentathlon, follow the blog , and watch her gaux!

¡Arriba Margaux!  ¡Felicitaciones y buena suerte en los juegos del futuro!

Translation:  “Margaux has arrived!  Congratulations and good luck in future games!”

The first person across the finish line in the video is Marta Dziadura from Poland; she won the Gold Medal. The second girl across the finish line is actually not finished, she has at least one more lap to go. The third girl across the finish line is Margaux, this finish earned Margaux the Silver Medal.

The film clip from the official site of the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne was shot in Mexico City last Sunday, March 9.
